General Job Description
The ideal candidate will be an experienced mechanical estimator familiar with various process piping, plumbing, and dry mechanical systems. This person will be comfortable performing take-offs for bid submissions and awarded projects, collaborating with the construction project team along the way.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, evaluating bids, and providing essential insights to support the company's projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful planning and execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Determine scope of work for estimates and bid preparation
Use estimating software to complete quantity take-offs
Review RFPs, specs, and basis of design to accurately scope a project
Coordinate estimates with project team to meet submission deadlines
Qualifications
5+ years of estimating and take-off experience with a focus on mechanical systems
Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings
High attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other bid programs
